Description: A Knit-Along/Crochet-Along is a group of people working on the same project with the help, guidance and encouragement of all the other participants. This is a free class open to anyone using supplies purchased at Cloverhill. Space is limited, so be sure to pre-register! When you register, we'll be happy to show you the colors available, or alternative choices.

This KAL is going off a topic not a particular project. The topic this round is a first time sweater (can be knit or crochet or both!). If you have already completed your first sweater your topic is going to be selecting a sweater that has an aspect you have not done before. For example, I have never made a sweater that uses both crochet and knit. So I can find a sweater that contains this and use it as my KAL project. If you would like help selecting your project or you need some suggestions, feel free to ask at the shop, in our Raverly group, facebook or email me. Class Description:*NEW CLASS* Students who are familiar with the basic elements of crochet can use this class to expand their knowledge. This class will incorporate new skills, such as: half-double crochet (hdc), working multiple hdc's in a single stitch, and seaming with a slip stitch. Students will be creating a drawstring satchel. Crochet I or some basic knowledge of crochet is recommended for this class.

Students will learn how to choose a yarn weight and create fan and half-fan stitches, and there will be a demonstration of blocking technique at the end. Students will create a delicate scarf. Class Description: Learn new knitting techniques in a group setting while you make squares for a beautiful afghan. Each month we will choose a new block to work on. This is an excellent way to try out cables and learn how to read patterns. These squares also make an excellent portable project since each square is worked separately and then sewn together to make the afghan.

We are going to give it a shot and give you the information so that you can feel more confident with your projects. Class Description: Shadow knitting, also called illusion knitting is a fun way to create a picture in your knitting. The picture is viewed by changing the angle you look at the knitting. The process is straight forward and this class will get you going with this colorwork technique. The Illusive Butterfly is a great example of what happens with pieces that have been worked in this technique and viewed at different angles. Our class project will be a small block as a sampler.

Class Description:Ginkgo is a classic top-down shoulderette shawl knit in one piece. A portion of stockinette stitch is followed by a lace border. Lace is worked on both the knit and purl sides. Lace is in chart form only. Great lace shawl to start with. Worked in fingering weight yarn, it would be SO beautiful in the Scrumptious sport yarn (silk and wool blend).

Class Description:The Jody socks are a Jolene Molsey design. They are worked from the toe up and use some unique construction for the toe and heel of the pattern. This class will get you knitting socks and lace from the toe up. The socks are written as using a 12" circular needle but feel free to use magic loop, 2 circ needles or dpns. If you are not sure how to use these we can go over that!

Class Description:The Skew socks are from knitty.com From their site: Skew takes the concept of the bias design element to a new extreme by turning the entire architecture of the sock, including the heel, on the diagonal. Rather than attempt to compensate for the non-squareness of stockinette stitch, I chose to exploit it, resulting in delightfully anatomically correct toes followed by an innovative heel shaping which continues the diagonal flow of the stitches without interruption. This heel requires neither short rows nor picking up stitches, but it does require a little bit of faith until the origami moment when a short grafted seam transforms an unfamiliarly-shaped object into a finished heel. A fair amount of high-school algebra and geometry was resurrected for the design process, but the knitter only needs to be able to count. Don’t let the clean stockinette swaths fool you; the unconventional shaping will keep you on your toes!

This class will teach you the ins and outs of lace knitting and get you on your way to knitting a beautiful lace scarf. The pattern is a fairly simple yet interesting to work. Class Description: This sweater was a fun knit! The pattern is pretty easy once you get past the neck and into the body of the sweater. This class will focus on getting the sweater started and past the harder part. The sweater is a quick quick knit with the use of big needles. I really enjoyed knitting this sweater.

Class Description: The Featherweight Cardigan has been a shop favorite for a while. The sweater is a very wearable design and there are a big range of sizes the pattern is written in as well. The sweater can be worked in a fingering weight or a lace weight. At the shop we have a fingering weight sample and I have CO for a lace weight sample in the Scrumptious lace yarn. I can't wait to finish it. The sweater is constructed from the top down and you have options when it comes to the collar and bands! The class will meet twice with a long gap between the meetings to give you plenty of time to knit your sweater.

Class Description:Fiber Dyeing! You will have the choice to dye yarn, fiber or both in this workshop class. We will talk about the fundmentals of color and hand dyeing techniques. Then you will be cut loose to experiment using different bases and dyes. The materials are included in the price of the class. Please let us know when you sign up what you are interested in dyeing and if there is a particular fiber you are looking forward to working with. This class is limited to 8 people so be sure to sign up fast.

Class Description: This class will bring your crochet skills further along. If you are looking to crochet some of those lovely patterns that are only charted then this class is for you. We will be working in the round by a crochet chart to create a beautiful flower. The pattern uses a few different crochet stitches but at the same time isn't too complex for an adventurous beginner to tackle.

Class Description: This class will teach you the basics of handspinning on a wheel. We will cover: the basics of preparing fiber (specifically wool) by hand with handcards and combs; a basic method of drafting and spinning; and the workings of spinning wheels. The class will also cover plying and how to finish yarns. Class participants need no experience with spinning and are not required to bring their own spinning wheels. Class is limited to 4 people.

Class Description: This class will cover four different drafting methods to achieve the yarn you want and not the yarn the wheel will let you make. Different fibers will be covered including cotton, silk, alpaca and fine wool. We will discuss how to adjust your wheel to give you consistent results, including diameter control (we will spin very fine thread). Class participants must be able to spin a continuous thread consistently and have a working relationship with their wheel. The class is open to people without spinning wheels but it is strongly suggested that you bring the wheel you are used to. Class is limited to 4 people.
