Class Description: Learn new knitting techniques in a group setting while you make squares for a beautiful afghan. Each month we will choose a new block to work on. This is an excellent way to try out cables and learn how to read patterns. These squares also make an excellent portable project since each square is worked separately and then sewn together to make the afghan.
For Aug class we will be doing a cable square and a lace square. We will discuss what other techniques the class is looking towards and work them in the following months.

Class Description: 100% Recycled Yarn! I couldnt believe it. A yarn that is machine washable, doesnt contain wool and looks like wool. Knitting the sample for this class was a great time. The pattern is pretty straight forward and the design kept me entertained but also relaxed my tensions. The finished product is something to be proud of!
Bonita gives out the homework, but we spaced out the sessions so that you can be successful and be able to possibly wear your sweater to the last class!

10/23/2010 and 11/13/2010 at 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Instructor:Kellie
Class Description: When I first saw the Mythos sweater online I knew I had to make it! The construction was interesting and the yarn pictured (Schaefer Yarn Audrey) was so beautiful in the design. It didnt take long for me to want to make it! I am planning on wearing it in the fall so I wanted a yarn with wool in it. Perfect! I went and grabbed the Wullenstudio tequila colorway and went to town. I am just about finished and the sample will be ready for you to try on soon!
Kellie will be teaching this class. The sweater is very interesting as it is knit by doing the two sides (sleeves to center) and then grafting the two pieces together. This is a neat idea and by using the handpainted yarn the pattern works up to almost vertical stripes; making me look better when I wear it!

Class Description: Another shawl that grabbed my attention right away and wooed me into casting on before I was really ready to move onto the next project. The sample at the shop is some handspun but this scarf looks beautiful in many fingering weight yarns. This class is great for the beginner lace knitter as it has just a taste of lace and a follow up of st st, with some short rows thrown in there to keep you interested. We ask for this class that you come in with your sts CO as this shawl is knit from the wide section first.

Class Description: Drop Spindles are used to take fiber, add twist to it and create beautiful yarns. This class is an excellent opening to spinning. The investment for a drop spindle is far less than a wheel but the skills are very similar. There are so many things you can do with hand spinning, the drop spindle being the most portable option.

10/3 at 2:00pm 4:00pm
Instructor: Jolene
Class Description: This class will cover four different drafting methods to achieve the yarn you want and not the yarn the wheel will let you make. Different fibers will be covered including cotton, silk, alpaca and fine wool. We will discuss how to adjust your wheel to give you consistent results, including diameter control (we will spin very fine thread). Class participants must be able to spin a continuous thread consistently and have a working relationship with their wheel. The class is open to people without spinning wheels but it is strongly suggested that you bring the wheel you are used to. Class is limited to 4 people.
